Behold, my fine and flowing turquoise and sea-blue scales! I shimmer at dusk as a hummingbird does at dawn! I can disappear above the waves at will, and appear as a distant pool of sapphire water on land.

 

I am "The Benevolent", although my present-day name comes from your Latin meaning "female warrior". When I see injustice or evil, my inner nature commands me to spring into action, and my usually-serene turquoise color flares into a blue so brilliant, that few men who have looked have retained their power of sight.
 

 

Oh, fear not, as the goodness in your heart will protect you from harm!

 


 

My original Dragon name, long ago deemed unpronounceable by humans, is also impossible to spell. So... BELLATRIX it is! Now you may call me BELLA if you have righteousness in your heart and kindness in mind!

 

Many generations of you humans have looked into the heavens and sought to remember me by naming a special star "Bellatrix"... Look into the winter night and find Orion, The Hunter. It is the star of his right shoulder which shines a beacon to those below, and brings memories of my many tales as "Keeper of the Balance".
